Rationale of the Programme
With this latest curriculum reorganization in Business Studies, there is need to change teacher preparation programme towards the new direction. This programme, therefore, intends to prepare competent and confident graduate teachers of Business Studies in all areas of Business Studies now being offered as an integrated subject in Kenyan Secondary Schools curriculum.

Objectives
The Objectives of the Programme
The main aim of this programme is to produce, through training, skilled personnel to teach Business studies subjects in secondary and Post-secondary institutions in Kenya. The specific objectives of the programme are:-

To equip the education student with the required professional knowledge and skills to teach competently and confidently Business Studies subject in the Kenyan secondary schools.

To prepare Business Studies teachers for Post – Secondary training institutions

Offer a variety of training courses in areas of Business Studies.

To equip education students with a strong foundation for postgraduate programmes in Business Studies Education, Entrepreneurship, and Master of Business and Administration (MBA) degrees.

Programme Outcomes
The following are the learning outcomes of the programme. It envisages producing a graduate of Business Studies who is:
(i) Competent in the content as well as instructional skills in Business Studies.
(ii) Able to identify problems in the area of Business Studies Education and conduct research.
(iii) Apply Business Studies knowledge, skills and attitudes to real life situation.
