DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN LANGUAGE EDUCATION

Introduction
This programme in theory and practice is based on cognitive and related views, problem solving and learning and the implications of these on language education for instruction, research and practice. The programme, therefore, takes cognizance of language theory and practice in the present and its future developments in Kenya and the world.

Admission Requirements

An applicant must hold a Moi University Masters Degree in Educational Communication and Technology in the specialized area of English language education or its equivalent.
Or
An applicant must hold a Moi University Masters of Philosophy degree in English language in addition to a Bachelor of Education Degree or its equivalent.

Course Duration
The D.Phil. degree in language education will be offered on both full-time and part-time basis.
Full time candidates
The course for D.Phil degree will last a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of five (5) years.

Part-time candidates
The course for D.Phil degree will last a minimum of five (5) years and a maximum of seven (7) years. The candidates must take a minimum of 9 Units per year.
